Delete your BlipSat account

BlipSat, from PresumeNothing. You do not need to install the app to ask for deletion.

This page explains how to delete your BlipSat account and its data. BlipSat is a service of PresumeNothing (Chicago, IL, USA).

Option 1: delete in the app

  1. iPhone: open BlipSat, then Settings → your account → Delete account, and confirm.
  2. Android: open BlipSat, then Settings → your account → Delete account, and confirm.

Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

Option 2: request deletion by email (no app needed)

  1. Send an email to support@blipsat.com from the email address on your BlipSat account.
  2. Use the subject line: Subject: Delete my BlipSat account
  3. We may reply to confirm it is you. We delete the account and its data within 30 days of your request and tell you when it is done.

Cancel your subscription first, if it was bought in a store

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Apple or Google Play, because only the store can do that. Cancel it yourself so you are not billed again:

  • iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > BlipSat.
  • Android: Play Store app > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > BlipSat.

A subscription bought on blipsat.com (billed by Stripe) is cancelled for you when the account is deleted.

What is deleted

  • Your account record: email address, password hash and sign-in links (Google, Apple).
  • Your registered devices, including satellite device identifiers and phone numbers, and SMS consent records.
  • Your message history: the commands you sent and the replies returned.
  • Your subscription record, usage records, feedback you sent from the app, and your Stripe customer record.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Billing records that we are required to keep by law, held by Apple, Google or Stripe under their own policies. Payment details never pass through BlipSat.
  • Anonymised cost and usage totals kept for accounting. They are no longer linked to you or your email.
  • A record that a free trial was used on a device, kept to stop repeat trials. It is no longer linked to your account.
  • Routine backups of our servers are overwritten on their normal cycle, within 30 days of deletion.
